unfollow?

unfollow?

Pardon my naivite, but is there a way to UNFOLLOW a thread you started in this forum? Most forums have that option. A thread I started was useful, but is now getting way off-topic, and it's time for me to bow out.

Hi Tom. I struggle with this a bit myself. The default when writing a post is “notify me…” and I sometimes forget to uncheck. There might be a better way but I go back to the post sending me messages and “edit” to uncheck the “notify me” option.

Also see Account/Options. There is a way to turn off notifications. I don’t know if that works or not… yet.

What I’ve never seen on this forum is thread locking for misbehaving or useless threads…

The email notifications have a link to unfollow, don't they? I don't know if it works if you were the originating poster, though.

Yeah, I think the unfollow link is in each email.

In every email there are links and one of them is to unsubscribe to the post and to stop receiving notifications.

The default is checked in settings - default is on. You can turn them off by default - but it needs to be turned on for each message - if I'm not mistaken. Enjoy!

Thanks. I guess that should have been obvious, in the notification e-mail. You click there and you don't get anymore e-mails. I guess if you want to be reinstated for notifications on that thread, you have to post a new message in that thread and there just ask to be notified.

I have accidentally clicked that no-follow link more than once.  The remedy is to open the thread and either edit one of your comments or post a new one.  That will reset your follow flag for the thread..
